hugs from heaven (via chocolate chip cookies)

I hate to use “perfect” when describing a cookie, but sometimes that is the only suitable adjective that’s available. And that is the case for my (current) favorite chocolate chip cookies. I know different cookies suit different people and uses, but this one is your best bet for world domination. (And you are naive to the power of cookies if you don’t believe they can be used to influence the masses.)

Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies

1/2 c butter
1/2 c coconut oil
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c white sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 – 1 1/2 c chocolate chips

Cream the butter, oil and sugars for a couple minutes. Mix in egg, egg yolk and vanilla. Blend dry ingredients separately and then stir into the rest of the dough. Add chocolate chips. Chilling the dough for a while in the fridge definitely improves the flavor and consistency. But sometimes it’s desperation — not patience or perfection — that wins the war.

Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
